Our paper and card goes from the factory to the printer. No costly conversion is required, adding a silicone coating paper that is high in energy and cost. This means less transportation is required by making fewer trips. And that is not just in the UK, but on a global scale. Release liner is a specific waste product for this sector. Removal of the lining and silicone reduces the waste sent to the landfill. In 2017, Ravenwood's uncoated labeling system eliminated the need to produce more than 2500 metric tons of silicone coating worldwide. This also saves on all the energy needed for coproduction, also on the cost of transport to the converter and the printer. Pressure increases to reduce waste in all industries and sectors, and the uncoated coating offers an efficient and ecological replacement for traditional self-adhesive labels and cardboard sleeves.

An unlined label is a pressure sensitive pre-printed label that does not need a backing or lining. The labels are wrapped in a roll or reel and have a strip of silicone applied on the top of the label that prevents the adhesive from the bottom to adhere to the label below.
